Now more than ever, it’s time for some self-care.

Gentle Self CareYoga/Meditation 7:30-8:45pm Sunday 5/10 $12 15400-04
Restorative Yoga
Facilitated, conscious relaxation that brings the nervous system into a parasympathetic state that helps to achieve a deeper sleep at night. Deep relaxation can lower blood pressure, increase “good cholesterol” levels, reduce belly fat, improve digestion, lower blood sugar levels, and of course reduce muscle tension and general fatigue. Experience “rest and digest mode” deeply and completely in this gentle, nurturing series. Restorative Yoga 7:30-8:45pm 3 Mondays 4/27-5/11 $30 15440-03
Yin Yoga
The practice of Yin Yoga is slow and steady, beginning with breath work. Poses are held for long periods of time, often at the edge of our comfort zone, wherever your body of the day agrees to without pain. Regardless of what the pose “should” look like. Or how others might be doing it. Your Yin poses are what they are for you, unique to you. Important for people who stand all day, sit all day, feel tight, tense, inflexible, or experience anxiety. If you can breathe, you can Yin. Yin Yoga 7:30-8:45pm 3 Tuesdays 4/28-5/12 $40 15441-03
Mid-Week Mindfulness
Now more than ever, it’s easy to get caught up in anxiety, worry, and fear. The practice of guided meditation invites you on a journey to find gratitude, your breath, your energy source, your heart center, and space to feel more centered and balanced in this difficult time. this class is not yet officially on the schedule—please show some support and request it so it can get on!

Yoga Props:
With the Covid 19 restrictions on gathering in groups, we cannot hold class together where I would normally provide all of our props to assist with our practices, but you can easily create props at home. Typical items used for classes include: your mat, 2 yoga blocks*, 2 – 3 blankets, a soft cloth or eye pillow, a yoga bolster**, one 8 foot strap, a timer***, a sturdy straight back chair that is not on wheels.
*yoga blocks are a hard, foam product, very sturdy. Two tightly rolled and secured bath towels folded down to about the size of blocks could be an option to work with.
** if you have a spare yoga mat, it could be made into a bolster by rolling it up and wrapping it in a blanket, or folding a blanket it over it several times to make it soft, or you could possibly even use a body pillow folded in half.
***with us not being “in person” I can’t walk over to you and wake you up if you fall asleep during savasana, so setting a “back up” timer will get you off the floor before morning ?.

JOIN ME IN YIN YOGA THIS WINTER!
Offered through the City of Plymouth, Community Recreation Programs
Yin Yoga Series
The practice of Yin Yoga is a slow and restorative style that involves relaxing the body right up to ones’ healthy edge, really feeling into each and every part of the body, especially any areas of pain. When we breathe in deeply while our bodies are outstretched, we are able to release tension. This process results in feeling more balanced and less restless, giving back more strength and energy than it takes away. Great for people who stand all day, are tense, inflexible, or experience anxiety. Bring a mat and your favorite blanket.
